Cloudera has launched Cloudera Private Link Network, which is designed to provide seamless, private connectivity between cloud workloads and the Cloudera Control Plane.

Cloudera Private Link Network ensures that data remains within a secure, private network, significantly reducing the attack surface. This is particularly crucial for highly-regulated industries. For financial institutions managing large volumes of sensitive customer and financial data, Cloudera Private Link Network enables secure connectivity while ensuring compliance with regulations and policies by keeping data off of the public Internet.

The solution is also ideal for pharmaceutical companies that need to integrate sensitive data, including personally-identifiable information (PII), across the R&D pipeline. Teams can integrate and analyse sensitive information without fear of exposing that data outside the organisation.

Healthcare providers can use Cloudera Private Link Network to build a proactive, data-driven healthcare experience while maintaining strict privacy standards, reducing the risk of data loss.

Users can switch between two deployment options:

- Authorisation for customers who want to integrate Cloudera Private Link Network with their existing cloud automation tools, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, without the need for cross-account permissions.

Cloudera Private Link Network uses a consumption-based pricing model. Users only pay for what they use. Unlike point solutions that require users to pay for individual, atomic links on a per-link basis, Private Link Network accepts payments for access on a per-VPC or per-account basis.

AWS: AI adoption grows 20% in Singapore

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company, has found* that AI adoption continues to accelerate in Singapore. In the past year alone, 27,000 1 Singapore businesses adopted AI for the first time—equivalent to over three new adopters every hour. In sum, nearly 170,000 (48%) of businesses in Singapore have adopted AI 2 , up from approximately 143,000 (40%) a year ago. This represents a 20% year-over-year growth rate, AWS said. AI adoption is the strongest in the financial services industry (71%), followed by the technology sector ( software developers, data analytics firms, cloud service providers, and digital startups) at 70%, and healthcare at 63%. Among Singapore’s businesses that have adopted AI, 82% reported an increase in revenue, at an average increase of 19%, while 90% report significant productivity improvements.
