How enterprise data centre customers can power the AI era without powering up emissions

Data centres are often described as the unseen backbone of our digital economy – and increasingly, of the AI revolution. Across the Asia Pacific (APAC), rapid expansion is cementing the region’s position as the next major data centre hub, with an estimated US$800 billion in investment expected by 2030. Thales to build drone traffic management platform for Singapore

- The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has awarded Thales, as the leading partner in a consortium with Deeeplabs, a contract to deliver a portal for the approval and tracking of all unmanned aircraft (UA) operations in Singapore.  - The solution will combine Thales’ aviation expertise with strong local digital and cloud capabilities to support the development of Singapore’s national drone ecosystem.    CAAS has awarded Thales, as the leading partner in a consortium with Singapore-based Deeeplabs, a contract to deliver an unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) traffic management (UTM) system based on the TopSky - AstraUTM platform. Deeeplabs will support deployment and operational services.  Source: Thales. Singtel shares AI adoption update

The Singtel Group has been taking steps to integrate AI into day-to-day operations and equip employees with the tools to improve productivity. AI has been integrated into key workflows such as software development and customer operations as well as decision-making processes, the company said.  William Woo, Singtel’s Group CIO and Group Chief Digital Officer said: “We see AI as a significant opportunity to empower our people and transform how work gets done across Singtel. As we scale its use, it is critical that our employees are equipped to use it confidently and responsibly, so we can translate these tools into meaningful improvements in productivity, innovation and customer experience.”  Broad employee usage is supported by training, measurable gains and active leadership involvement. In collaboration with OpenAI, Singtel has deployed ChatGPT Enterprise to more than 3,000 employees in Singapore, for example.
