Huawei launches cloud initiatives in Singapore

Huawei is investing further in Singapore with HUAWEI CLOUD and a Cloud & AI Innovation Lab. Source: Huawei. HUAWEI CLOUD was launched in Singapore at HUAWEI CLOUD SUMMIT 2019 . Three flagship cloud services were released at HUAWEI CLOUD SUMMIT 2019 : ▶ ECS C6, the industry's first elastic cloud services using servers based on the Intel Xeon Cascade Lake processor. Cascade Lake performs 15% better than the industry average and can handle 10 million network packets per second (PPS). ▶ Object Storage Service (OBS), which uses unique HUAWEI CLOUD algorithms to achieve the highest performance in the industry. Fujitsu trials AI maritime traffic risk prediction in Singapore

Fujitsu has announced the results of a field trial conducted with the assistance of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) in analysing marine traffic risks in the Singapore Straits. Fujitsu has demonstrated the usefulness of a novel ship collision risk prediction technology that leverages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in predicting near misses between vessels. Using AI technology Fujitsu Human Centric AI Zinrai developed by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd, this solution can detect ship collision risks and predict areas where collision risks are concentrated as dynamic risk hotspots. This technology has the potential to be deployed in a Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) system* to assist maritime traffic controllers to manage marine traffic proactively with the aim of improving the safety of navigation. Singapore's public sector takes digital defence seriously

Guest-of-honour and keynote speaker Singapore Senior Minister of State for Defence & Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, discussed the use of data in the public service, as well as digital defence in a digital age at Tableau Software’s 5 th annual Public Sector Day .  In his speech the minister addressed the inter-connectedness brought about by digital technology, which has made us more vulnerable to cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns and fake news. The mobile app and watch.tatasky.com give subscribers access to 400+ live channels and over 5,000 TV and movie titles on their laptops and iOS/Android mobile devices. Tata Sky chose ThinkAnalytics to enable users to find content easily online and on mobile devices, boosting overall viewer engagement.
