"Building upon the specs of previous EcoTank models, while also incorporating updated features, this new series of EcoTank printers aims to be a high-speed all-in-one printing solution for both business and home printing needs,” said Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore.

Thanks to an upgraded PrecisionCore print head, the two printers are faster than earlier EcoTank models. Black/colour printing speeds reach 15/8 images per minute (ipm) respectively. The printers also feature longer product life. Compared to previous EcoTank models, the new models have warranty coverage of up to 50,000 pages or 2 years, whichever comes first.
Smart printing features such as Airprint and Mopria are supported. Epson’s Smart Panel app gives users direct access to
functions such as remote On/Off, printing, scanning, and copying as well as a way to monitor the printer’s operation and ink level.
The new additions to the EcoTank printer series are designed with sustainability in mind. They run on Epson Heat-Free technology, which uses less power than laser technology as heat is not required in the printing process. Thirty percent of the plastic in the printers is recycled plastic*, while the packaging they come in comprises over 80% recycled cardboard. In addition, they utilise 84% less consumables compared to ink cartridge printers**.
For ease of maintenance, Epson has introduced a new, replaceable maintenance box. Instead of bringing a printer to a service centre, users can just replace the maintenance box, reducing downtime.
*The 30% less plastic figure is based on a ratio of the recycled plastic weight to overall plastic component weight. Virgin plastic savings are equivalent to approximately 250 plastic spoons, calculated as 3 g of high impact polystyrene (HIPS) plastic spoons. The amount of recycled content and recycled material varies by the model, manufacturing time and site.
**The 84% less consumables figure comes from a material weight comparison of consumables (including packaging) between Epson ink cartridges of the WF2630 series and the Epson ink bottles of L5590/3550 printers.
