Mobile enterprise software from Ivanti automates warehouse ops
The Ivanti Velocity framework now supercharges warehouse operations – without needing to write code or cause disruption to existing warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.
According to Ivanti, automation in warehouses has become a top priority for labour-starved supply chain operations after the pandemic fuelled interest in e-commerce. Ivanti Velocity combines terminal emulation (TE) and industrial browser capabilities in a single client, allowing for Telnet green-screen migration to updated mobile devices as well as a curated browser experience.
Millions of Velocity licences have been installed, with businesses putting the solution to work on:
- Voice-enabled picking
- Put-to-light and Pick-to-light*
- Heads-up display (HUD) peripheral deployment
- Damaged goods processing
- Internet of Things (IoT) device integration
- Key performance indicator (KPI) tracking
“The expansion of Ivanti Velocity comes at a critical time as retail, manufacturing and logistics companies urgently need to speed operations, reduce risks and increase productivity,” said Brandon Black, Senior VP and GM, Ivanti Wavelink. Ivanti Wavelink is the supply chain business unit of Ivanti.
“Ivanti Velocity connects use case scenarios that centre around inbound and outbound as well as in areas that are beyond the four walls, allowing for operational excellence.”
*Pick-to-light systems use lighting to guide employees on the sequence of items to pick, store, sort and assemble, whereas put-to-light systems use lights to guide them on where to place items for maximum efficiency.
