IDC: Accenture a Leader for Asia Pacific managed security services vendor assessment
Accenture has been positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 2020 Vendor Assessment. The company offers professional services globally, including services in strategy and consulting, interactive, technology
and operations.
The report evaluates 19 organisations that offer managed security services (MSS) in the region against a broad set of parameters that define current market demand and expectation of MSS buyers. These include breadth of MSS offerings, portfolio benefits, threat lifecycle capabilities, cloud security, delivery model, cost management, market execution, geographic presence, thought leadership, innovation, customer satisfaction, and customer advocacy.
Andrew McLauchlan, MD with Accenture Security in Asia Pacific said, “We have a strong innovation agenda that is focused on client service and solving their most critical cybersecurity challenges. This strategy has helped us grow our business at more than three times the market rate, globally. We are growing both organically and inorganically, and in the process, we are expanding our capabilities in target areas.
"Our recently-announced acquisition of Symantec’s Cyber Security Services business is one example of this. This IDC MarketScape shows that we are on the right track and we look forward to building on our leadership position.”
Cathy Huang, Associate Research Director for IDC’s Asia/Pacific Services Research Group and Asia/Pacific Security practice said, “The rising significance and impact of cybersecurity is no longer viewed as a technical or compliance issue. It is now a business imperative that deserves deliberations in the boardroom. It is therefore timely that this report provides an assessment of the MSS players in the Asia/Pacific region that will provide insights needed when organisations choose their security partners.
"The report highlights many differentiating factors including MSSPs’ threat lifecycle capability, cyber risk monitoring, the vertical expertise, local presence and cost management.”
According to the IDC MarketScape, Accenture’s strengths include its industry-driven approach to security, a winning combination of local delivery capability backed by global resources, and the firm’s FORM methodology. FORM unleashes innovation through discovery of the client’s needs and mapping the right solutions accordingly. Its R&D investments including its Cyber Applied Innovation Fusion Centers in Asia Pacific were also highlighted.
The report considers IDC’s analysis and customer feedback in its methodology and notes that “Accenture Security is continuously investing and enhancing its existing services by acquiring new companies and working closely with its partners to create differentiated solutions and address critical business challenges.”
Accenture’s recent acquisition of the Symantec’s Cyber Security Services receives a positive nod in the report as it acknowledges that enterprises “…will benefit from Accenture's and Symantec's combined expertise fine-tuned to their industry with tailored global threat intelligence powered by advanced analytics, machine learning, orchestration and automation capabilities.”
The IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT (information and communications technology) suppliers in a given market.
