New Slack research*, Leadership and the war for talent , based on a survey of over 1,000 Singaporean knowledge workers, found that teamwork and collaboration, transparent and trustworthy leadership, flexible work, and employee wellbeing as the four biggest factors in driving organisational success. Financial achievement, the usual reason, is now on the back burner. When it comes to flexible working, over two-thirds of Singaporeans want to be trusted to do their job regardless of location or the hours worked. Travel and tourism players will need tech to succeed

A global survey* of more than 8,000 travellers has uncovered that technology plays a growing role in which travel players win. Released in October, the annual Changing Traveller Report 2022 by SiteMinder, the global hotel commerce platform, showed that: Gen Z (aged 18-25) are also the most likely to be influenced by the social media presence of the property they book, compared to other age groups. Thai travellers are the most influenced by social media, with 78% of respondents saying they are “very influenced” or “influenced” by the property’s social media presence in their booking decision, followed by 75% in China and 74% in Indonesia. In fact, respondents in every age group agreed that they are all influenced by the social media accounts of the accommodation they book. Kroll, the independent provider of global risk and financial advisory solutions, has announced research revealing that businesses in Asia Pacific are feeling the impact of cyberattacks, but many are yet to build appropriate response plans or have regular access to relevant cyber expertise. Vertiv publishes guide to data centre sustainability

Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has released its Guide to Data Center Sustainability , an online resource for data centre owners and operators seeking to reduce the environmental impact of their facilities. According to a report by the International Energy Agency, data centres account for about 1% of global electricity demand. The report notes that the industry was able to limit the impact of capacity growth on total energy consumption prior to 2020 by improving operating efficiency. However, capacity growth figures changed in 2020, when global Internet traffic surged by more than 40%. Market Intelligence projects a 13% CAGR in data centre construction over the next five years.
