Kissflow, a platform that empowers process owners, otherwise known as citizen developers and IT developers, to automate middle office processes and applications, has found that 83% of respondents in a survey have active citizen development programmes.  Citizen development is a progressive step towards democratising technology use and embracing non-IT developers into the technology development process, Kissflow said. The company explained that citizen development empowers non-IT employees to design, build, and deploy departmental applications, processes and tasks using low-code/no-code platforms. UiPath, an enterprise automation and AI software company, recently shared the current reality, future, and perception of automation in the workplace in its annual State of the Automation Professional Report . The report, which is based on a global survey of 1,909 automation professionals and students, revealed 2024 was the year of integration and usage of AI, with 90% of automation professionals using or planning to use AI within the coming year. The report found that the primary motivation behind integrating AI into workflows is increased productivity (66%), and that automation professionals are utilising the technology in various ways including writing code (67%), creating documentation (57%), and testing (47%).
