Singapore embraces the HUAWEI P30 with gusto

The HUAWEI P30 Series made its debut at VivoCity in Singapore yesterday, where the phone was sold out by noon. Hundreds were in line to buy the the latest flagship in Huawei's photography-first smartphone family, with the first in line queuing as early as 9 pm the day before. Since its global launch in France last week, the Huawei P30 Series had become known for its integrated Leica Quad Camera, a world’s first, with industry-leading zoom capabilities and low-light performance. Francis Toh, decided to switch to Huawei after being convinced by his wife, Mrs Amy Toh, who has used the Huawei Mate 10 and P20 Pro. Tolly tests Huawei's AI Fabric data centre network solution

Huawei has announced at the Huawei China Eco-Partner Conference 2019 that its AI Fabric Intelligent and Lossless Data Center Network solution has undergone comparison test and verification by the Tolly Group. The test results showed that, in typical service scenarios for data centres that are oriented to artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, Huawei AI Fabric has superior performance to competitive networking solutions. SAS and NVIDIA partner to show businesses the way to AI

SAS announced a partnership with NVIDIA last month to help businesses deploy artificial intelligence (AI). The companies are collaborating across machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing, with NVIDIA GPUs and CUDA-X AI acceleration libraries, to support the core elements of SAS' AI offerings – leading to faster, more accurate insights. "AI is transforming business across industries," said Gavin Day, SAS Senior VP of Technology. "At the heart of AI-based transformation is advanced analytics. Tata Consultancy Services to develop cross-industry Blockchain solutions with Microsoft, R3 technology

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services, consulting, and business solutions organisation, is developing solutions to drive adoption of Blockchain. The initiative will use technologies from Microsoft and R3, an enterprise Blockchain software firm. TCS sees the need for horizontal cross-industry platforms on which scalable solutions can be rapidly developed. The company will offer a platform for hybrid cloud and another for microservices architecture on the Microsoft Azure Blockchain cloud. At the same time R3’s Corda Enterprise Blockchain platform will allow TCS to quickly develop and deliver application layer solutions. Toyota uses analytics to improve farming

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has begun field trials of a new support service that uses data from real-time visualisation of soil components during agricultural land analysis to diagnose soil characteristics and propose improvements.  The aim of this service is to rapidly identify variations in soil components within a tract of agricultural land, and to help improve agricultural productivity and lower environmental impacts by enabling precise soil cultivation through waste-free addition of fertilisers and other soil improvement agents.  This field trial is being carried out on farmland in Mie Prefecture in Japan cooperation with Tokai Trading Company, which has a wide range of knowhow related to agricultural machinery and fertilisers, as well as extensive contacts in the farming industry. A10 Networks’ State of DDoS Weapons report names China, India and Korea as sources of DDoS weapons

• China, Korea, and India among the top countries hosting DDoS weapons • Internet of Things (IoT) devices using machine-to-machine communications protocol increasingly exploitable A total of 23,487,185 distributed denial of service (DDoS) weapons are currently in the wild, according to A10 Networks’ latest State of DDoS Weapons Report. Weapons are hosted in countries with a dense Internet-connected population. China and the US currently host the largest number of DDoS weapons, with 6,114,312 and 2,636,103 weapons respectively. Other Asian countries hosting DDoS weaponry include Korea at 872,744 weapons, and India with 615,239 weapons. The study found that the number of connected devices is growing faster than the number of connected people. According to A10 Networks, it has taken over 25 years since the birth of the Internet to connect 55% of the 7.6 billion people on the planet.
