Fortinet, the global cybersecurity provider driving the convergence of networking and security, has launched a new regional point-of-presence (PoP) in Singapore for Lacework FortiCNAPP, its cloud-native application protection platform. The Singapore PoP complements Fortinet’s existing infrastructure in the region and marks Fortinet’s second FortiCNAPP deployment in Asia-Pacific, following its PoP in Australia.
According to Fortinet, organisations are managing multicloud and hybrid environments while facing evolving regulatory expectations and sophisticated cyberthreats. Fortinet’s new FortiCNAPP PoP in Singapore addresses these challenges by providing localised security services that help organisations better protect their cloud-native applications while maintaining control over sensitive data.
Lacework FortiCNAPP empowers organisations to secure their applications, infrastructure, and workloads across any cloud: public, private, or hybrid. Delivered as a service, its AI-powered engine combines advanced threat detection, vulnerability management, compliance insights, and behavioural analytics into one unified solution. With the launch of FortiCNAPP in Singapore, Fortinet is helping enterprises and partners across ASEAN and South Asia unlock new advantages:
- Enhanced data residency: Keep data within the region to meet national and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Faster performance: Experience lower latency and faster access to cloud security services, delivering a smoother user experience and greater operational efficiency.
- Stronger compliance: Stay ahead of evolving security regulations while accelerating cloud adoption with confidence.
Fortinet enhanced Lacework FortiCNAPP in June to deliver:
- Real-time CloudTrail alerts: Enables near-instant detection of critical activity, such as compromised credentials or anomalous API behaviour, by reducing AWS CloudTrail alert latency from 24 hours to under 15 minutes.
- Explorer (security graph): Provides a visual, interactive view of attack paths and asset relationships, making pinpointing and investigating exposures, such as Internet-facing vulnerabilities, easier.
- Agentless Windows scans: Supports agentless scanning for Windows workloads across any cloud, identifying vulnerabilities and secrets without requiring software deployment. This is ideal for expanding visibility and compliance with minimal overhead.
- Fleet management: Delivers detailed visibility across large environments into agent inventory, health, and deployment status, helping teams monitor coverage and optimise cloud security.
The investment in Singapore comes at a time when digital adoption across ASEAN and South Asia is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. According to Fortinet’s 2025 State of Cloud Security Report, 78% of organisations are now using two or more cloud providers, while 61% cite security and compliance as their top concerns when adopting cloud technologies.
Jess Ng, Country Head, Singapore and Brunei, Fortinet said: "Across ASEAN and South Asia, organisations are navigating increasingly complex cloud environments while facing mounting security and compliance challenges. Our new FortiCNAPP PoP in Singapore addresses these needs by delivering advanced protection, real-time visibility, and scalability, helping customers secure their applications and data while enabling our partners to offer enhanced, localised cloud security services that support digital transformation and business agility."
