Huawei Cloud has officially released Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3, the industry's first hybrid cloud for large AI models.
Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3 provides more than 110 on-premises cloud services and six feature highlights. At the launch in Hong Kong Hu Yuhai, VP, Huawei Hybrid Cloud said: "In April 2023, Huawei Cloud released Huawei Cloud Stack 8.2 in Hong Kong shared that the new version has a solid cloud foundation and five innovative capabilities covering databases, mainframe modernisation, data lakes, large AI models, and the industrial Internet.
"We strive to create greater value and better experience for government and enterprise customers and partners in Hong Kong," he said.
Huawei Cloud Stack provides high availability, robust security, multi-architecture compute, and an open, trusted, more resilient cloud native infrastructure. Features include:
· GaussDB: a distributed database with high performance and reliability
· Mainframe modernisation: accelerating transformation of core systems
· Converged data lake: promoting data sharing and circulation
· Pangu models: helping enterprises build custom large AI models in one stop
· Industrial Internet: integration with AI for new industrialisation
Gong Qing, Director of Huawei Hybrid Cloud Operations Department said: "Huawei Cloud Stack provides a comprehensive cloud operations solution based on our extensive experience serving customers across many sectors like government, finance, and enterprises.
"The solution provides a broad set of capabilities, covering cloud migration tools, cloud native transformation, proactive O&M capabilities such as the design of a high availability solution, and operations system establishment. It helps customers move faster to dive into cloud and thrive with digital power."
Huawei Cloud further introduced a Leap2Cloud initiative to help government, enterprise customers and partners in Asia Pacific to seize strategic opportunities to bid farewell to legacy virtualisation and embrace cloud-native computing, AI, and big data.
The company also launched the Visions of Diving into Cloud white paper. Huawei Cloud envisions promoting wide adoption of the "dive into cloud" concept across all industries to unlock a new era of digital and intelligent transformation.
Huawei Cloud Stack has worked with more than 10 large government and enterprise customers to develop industry models running on the hybrid cloud. The company's customers and partners include the Office of the National Digital Economy (ONDE) in Thailand, Advanced Info Service (AIS) in Thailand, Bank Neo Commerce (BNC) in Indonesia, and Chinasoft International.
Shandong Energy Group deployed the industry's first large AI model for coal mining, for example. This model has been deployed by 26 organisations or units under the Shandong Energy Group, covering more than 40 scenarios in nine professional domains.
Thailand's Government Data Centre and Cloud Service (GDCC) used Huawei Cloud Stack to establish a national government cloud. This cloud has supported Thailand's government departments, helping them develop digital services more easily and providing better public service capabilities in the fields such as e-health, public transportation, and customs.
AIS leveraged the hybrid cloud solution from Huawei Cloud Stack to enjoy high stability, reliability, and robust O&M support in on-premises deployments while innovating fast using extensive hybrid cloud services. Huawei Cloud Stack also provides capabilities, such as cross-cloud DR and hierarchical orchestration and deployment, to help AIS deploy an open, secure cloud architecture.
Huawei Cloud Stack also helped BNC in Indonesia deploy an on-premises cloud platform. The platform automated deployment and enabled fast rollout of a vast range of services. It also provides efficient centralised maintenance, which lets experts in BNC stay more focused on innovation.
*O&M refers to operations and maintenance.
