Lenovo announces laptops, tablet

Lenovo unveiled new consumer devices ahead of CES, two IdeaPad laptops and a 9" tablet. The devices are designed with speed, versatility, and convenience in mind.

Made for reliable daily performance, the new IdeaPad laptops continue to offer consumers quality, style, performance, and value. Available in two screen size options, 14" and 16" and two colour variations, Arctic Grey and Frost Blue⁴, the IdeaPad Pro 5i and IdeaPad Pro 5 come with Windows 11 and feature increased thermal performance for a cooler and quieter experience. They run on the latest Intel Processor or AMD Ryzen processors and will accommodate up to an NVIDIA GeForce laptop GPU.

Additional features include a 25% larger touch pad for a better navigation experience, an FHD infrared (IR) camera with a time of flight (ToF) sensor*, and smart login with Windows Hello. The laptops also come with an solid state drive (SSD) expandable storage slot on the 16" model, allowing more data to be stored. Equipped with USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, users can also enjoy faster data transfer and increased productivity. 

The 16" IdeaPad Pro 5i and IdeaPad Pro 5 feature an all-new dynamic display switch. The faster refresh rates of up to 120 Hz enable an overall smoother viewing experience for videos or gaming. The laptops have QHD+ display resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 90% actual aspect ratio (AAR), plus a 100% sRGB colour space**.

The Eyesafe Certified low blue light display helps with eye comfort and the new physical privacy shutter adds another layer of safety to the experience. Enjoy extra hours of battery life¹ on a 15-minute charge². In addition, the Smart Power feature has an intelligent power and cooling mode that delivers adaptive performance, battery life, and thermals based on real usage.

Also strengthened in this latest generation of IdeaPad Pro 5i and IdeaPad Pro 5 laptops is Lenovo’s vision to reduce its environmental impact, with the laptops’ bottom cover made of 50% recycled aluminum. Lenovo’s CO₂ Offset Services are also now available across the IdeaPad product range.

The lightweight IdeaPad Slim 5i and IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 8 laptops are made to support daily hybrid work and learning. The larger 16" screen size offers up to 2.5K resolution, while the 14" comes with a FHD OLED display and up to 2.2 K resolution³.

Both screen sizes come complete with 90% AAR and 100% DCI-P3** for ultra-vivid colours. The ability to work anywhere, including outside on sunny days, is made easier with up to 400 nits brightness available on the 14" screen. In addition, the TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification for the display contributes to eye safety. An upgraded FHD infrared camera offers more accurate imaging, and a physical privacy shutter keeps what's on the screen away from prying eyes.

Also new is a larger touchpad. Performance is raised with up to the latest Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 7000 processors and two USB Type-C ports. Three colours are available – Violet, Cloud Grey, and Abyss Blue⁴.

Users can protect these laptops from the unexpected with Lenovo’s advanced support service, Lenovo Premium Care Plus⁵. Lenovo Premium Care Plus includes personalised hardware and software support, accidental damage protection, Lenovo Smart Performance Services, and an extended battery warranty.

Weighing about 344 g and just 7.99 mm thick, the Lenovo Tab M9 has a 9" HD display housed within a dual-tone metal casing. Its MediaTek Helio G80 Octa-Core processor, Android 12 operating system, and up to 128 GB of storage give users the power and space they need, together with up to 13 hours¹ of video playback. There is Wi-Fi 5 connectivity and an optimised GPS function as well as Dolby Atmos spatial audio and dual stereo speakers. Netflix HD is supported.

The Lenovo Tab M9 offers a Reading Mode that simulates the colour of real book pages, as well as a selection of ambient background sounds. TÜV Rheinland eye care certification further gives users the peace of mind that their eyes are protected. The tablet can be secured with a face-unlock feature. A clear case can be bundled with the tablet, as well as a folio case⁶ with kickstand.

*ToF is a technique which determines the distance between the sensor and an object based on the time it takes for a light sent to the object to register on the sensor.

A device that displays 100% of the sRGB colour space may display less than 100% of a different colour space. DCI-P3 refers to the P3 colour space under the Digital Camera Initiative framework.
