When artificial intelligence (AI) drives content, every interaction becomes unique. Virtual production, traditional media, and video games are converging around AI to create dynamic narrative worlds, according to Guy Gadney, CEO and Co-founder, Charisma Entertainment. Speaking at NVIDIA's GTC 2022, Gadney first described how travelling minstrels moved from town to town to tell stories that changed with the latest news and audience reactions, then pointed out that while content could reach the masses with the printing press, it also meant that there could only be one version of the story at a time - a practice that has by and large continued to the present. With new technology, we are now returning to the traditional narrative story, he said. "You are now a player in stories, able to talk to characters and be understood by them with new natural language processing," he said. Charisma Entertainment's solution, currently available in eight languages, powers digital humans which can react to what is said to them. "(The character) listens to you, then responds in real time and in context," Gadney explained. "The characters are fully aware of you and the narrative changes depending on how you behave." Gadney predicted that in the future, AI will: - Accelerate production - Deepen engagement - Enable creativity - Raise quality "In 2022, AI content will be indistinguishable and probably better than human versions," he said. - Facilitate transformation Explore: View the Charisma Entertainment showcase
