HSBC Singapore's priority: adviser-enabled AI
HSBC Singapore is accelerating the rollout of adviser-enabled AI, including Wealth Intelligence and AI Prepare.
Launched in Singapore and Hong Kong in September 2025, Wealth Intelligence is HSBC Private Bank's proprietary generative AI platform. It was built by in-house developers and is powered by OpenAI's large language model. The platform synthesises Chief Investment Office research and more than 10,000 external data sources to provide wealth management teams with real-time investment insights. It is being progressively scaled across HSBC's global markets.
AI Prepare, introduced in 2026, is HSBC’s AI-powered pre-meeting wealth engagement tool. It brings together a client’s financial overview, tailored talking points and investment insights into a single view in seconds. This helps wealth management teams prepare more efficiently for client meetings, and supports more informed and personalised client conversations.
The AI focus follows a global multiyear AI partnership with Google Cloud announced in June 2026, which aims to accelerate innovation in areas such as hyperpersonalised wealth management advice for customers and financial crime risk management.
Ashmita Acharya, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking, HSBC Singapore said: "Our investment in adviser-enabled AI, including Wealth Intelligence, AI Prepare, and our broader partnership with Google Cloud, gives our relationship managers the tools to work at the same level of rigour as the clients they serve, and to bring something to the conversation that AI alone cannot; deep experience, empathy, clear judgement and accountability for the outcome."
In June, HSBC shared that it will work with the Google Cloud and Google DeepMind engineering teams to collaborate on new AI-powered tools and programmes, with access to Google’s latest agentic AI capabilities, including Gemini models.
The programme is expected to enable more than 200 new AI use cases over the next two years, while supporting the identification and prioritisation of the highest-value initiatives for investment and delivery at HSBC. The benefit value is estimated to exceed US$100 M, through either direct revenue gains or wider efficiency improvements.
HSBC already has more than 600 applications already running on Google Cloud.
“AI is becoming one of the defining technologies of our time, allowing us to create a personalised experience for each customer, delivered in real time and at scale, while keeping human judgement, decision-making and accountability at the core,” said Georges Elhedery, HSBC's Group CEO at the time of the announcement.
“A partnership like this one with Google Cloud helps us empower our colleagues with the tools they need to be future-ready, and supports our work in building a simple, agile, faster and more personal HSBC.”
The programme will begin with three initial focus areas:
- Hyperpersonalised wealth management support, combining smarter, AI-driven insights with relationship manager expertise to provide more proactive, tailored financial support and real-time advice to customers
- Stronger financial crime risk management, with AI-backed financial crime architecture that detects risks at an earlier stage. HSBC said it expects to be able to intervene twice as fast when risk is detected, including across the near 1 billion transactions currently monitored for signs of financial crime every month
- AI-empowered teams, which will be supported by an AI assistant that is already reducing admin and client meeting prep time from hours to minutes for thousands of users
“Our partnership with HSBC is a blueprint for the future of the financial services industry,” said Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud’s CEO in June.
“By accelerating AI adoption built with Gemini, our Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, forward-deployed engineers and Google DeepMind’s research expertise, HSBC is building a more intelligent, resilient and responsive bank that can create meaningful value for its customers.”
