Budget-friendly, quiet and very bright: Barco's G100 series

Barco, the professional visualisation technologies specialist, has launched the G100 series of projectors. This budget-friendly projector range meets Barco's high-quality standards while satisfying customer requirements in terms of brightness, technical versatility, and sustainability when it comes to media-based attractions, such as planetariums, theme parks, as well as events.

“The G100 is developed for applications that require high brightness and powerful laser projection, similar to the high end projectors but at an affordable price,” said Gan Ta Loong, MD, Barco SEA and VP Immersive Experience, Barco Asia Pacific at Barco.

“The G100 range models expands and diversifies Barco’s projector hardware options for venue owners across the region and empowers them to create new, innovative visual displays. It has enabled Barco to target an even wider spectrum of audience with varying budgets and thus, strengthening our position as a leader in the audiovisual industry.”

The G100 is a single-chip projector with native WUXGA resolution and comes in three models with varying brightness: 16,000, 19,000 and 22,000 lumens. This high-brightness power enables advanced image quality for both indoor and outdoor projections. The G100 series supports the latest input sources, including HDMI 2.0, to enable deep colour palettes. The new projector series further stands out in the industry with exceptionally low noise levels and a maximum ambient operating temperature of 50°C.

Barco adds versatility to the range with a new GC-lens family. The new GC lenses have throw ratios going from 0.38 up to 10.8, and a large shift capability. With the excellent onboard cooling and the low noise output, Barco said the G100 is ideally suited to high-brightness projections, indoors or outdoors, close-up or far away.

The G100 projectors also feature carefully selected components that lower the power consumption of the device, extend the light source lifetime, and, accordingly, limits the ecological footprint of the units. As a result, the ecoscoring team has granted the projectors an A-score and a Barco ECO product label.
