Many participants the seamless user experience and engagement capabilities, and were happy with eliminating travel costs and reducing the time needed to reach to important stakeholders.
Rob Chong, Founder and CEO of RADX, said that the success of Smart ConnecTech Asia 2020 using the RADX VR platform proves that the technology can help event organisers overcome difficulties in organising an event. "While the global events and exhibition industry has taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbated by the closure of borders and restrictions in travelling, as well as social distancing requirements, the use of virtual reality in such events can help businesses in ensuring the continuity of their operations," he said.
The RADX VR platform allows event organisers to host virtual trade shows and conferences for exhibitors and visitors, using non-immersive 3D technology. Visitors can set their own avatars, similar to those in role-playing games (RPGs), and just as in a physical trade show they can exchange name cards and chat with each other via chat and video call. They can also participate in livestreamed webinars.
Exhibitors can choose to engage visitors in one-on-one or group chats, or video calls. Visitors can also view and download product information such as brochures, images or videos after visiting the virtual booths. Keynote and plenary sessions are held in a virtual auditorium, where presenters can livestream lectures or play prerecorded presentations, followed by Q&A sessions. Recordings of each session are available on-demand after the event.
Each virtual trade show comes with tailored company branding that is fully integrated into the virtual environment. Third-party email marketing campaigns and social media integration enable event organisers and exhibitors to capture qualified leads before, during and after a virtual trade show.
RADX offers the VR solutions as a software-as-a-service. According to the company, events can be up and running in weeks.
